The End of the Internet!?

Future without web as we know it

I stumbled through the net and found this study from Jamie Burke. Stunning, but sounds completely logic that we are already in a „post web aera“. It’s not as if it’s not obvious that the Internet will disappear completely ‘at some point’. However, I didn’t expect it to happen so quickly. It’s obvious: AI will do everything we don’t want to do. Accordingly, we can assume that we will soon no longer write, but only speak, which the AI will do for us. Why not search the internet by voice command?

Reminds me of old video rental shops

But why should the internet as we know it still exist at all? Because the AI can also tell me where I can buy something. Alexa sends her regards! And why should I read something when the AI can read the text to me straight away – or even better: I can have it summarised for me. Hello Mr Blinkist, who summarises 2 books for me every morning so that I don’t have to read them while taking a shower. It is, of course, pure human convenience. And that’s why I think the statements are perfectly understandable!

Topics that encourage me to take a closer look. And in great detail. Because a lot of jobs will die as a result of this too, like old video rental shops back in the early 2000nds. And, well, there were a lot of creative new opportunities that arose. It’s a bit scary, but I find it extremely exciting and I’m curious to see what will change and how. And above all, at what speed.
